Power Crisis Halts Medical Services in Gaza Hospitals
In the northern Gaza Strip, Palestinian hospitals have ceased operations due to a combination of ongoing Israeli attacks and critical fuel shortages necessary for powering generators. Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesperson for the Health Ministry, announced Monday that all hospitals except Al-Ahly Hospital are now out of service. Al-Ahly Hospital continues to run but with extremely limited capabilities.Al-Qedra revealed the dire consequences of the situation, stating, “The exhaustion of fuel in the last generator at Al-Shifa Medical Complex has led to the deaths of at least five newborns and seven other patients.” He further cautioned about the imminent risk to kidney dialysis patients, who might die within hours if unable to receive treatment.
