Rooftop Tent in Tel Aviv Advertised for Rent … at Over $1,600 a Month
A tent erected on the rooftop of a building in north Tel Aviv was advertised for rent as a one-bedroom apartment. The rent on the tent, which includes a kitchen, refrigerator, bathroom and bed, as well as a television – all in one room, was advertised on the Yad2 website for 5,500 shekels or more than $1,600 a month. Israel’s Channel 12 first reported on the rental listing late on Sunday night; it was later removed fromYad2. The landlord described the dwelling to N12 as a penthouse and said that the rooftop property is “relatively sheltered.” He also encouraged prospective tenants to come see the property in person. N12 reported that there is a long list of prospective tenants waiting to see the potential rental. The potential rental comes as Israelis have complained even louder about the sky-high costs of renting an apartment or buying a home or apartment.
