Saudi Arabia Debuts AI Initiatives To Revolutionize Its Media Landscape
Saudi Arabia has inaugurated the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center for Media along with the Future Camp of Generative Artificial Intelligence for Media, marking a significant leap toward integrating advanced technology in the media sector. Launched by Saudi Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari and Abdullah bin Sharaf Alghamdi, president of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, during the Saudi Media Forum, these initiatives underscore the kingdom’s ambition to position itself as a frontrunner in AI application within media. The new AI Center and Future Camp are designed to enhance the capabilities of Saudi media by leveraging the latest in AI technology, aligning with the kingdom’s broader objectives of technological advancement. In 2023, the Saudi media industry contributed $3.87 billion to the country’s gross domestic product. The sector also played a pivotal role in job creation, providing 56,000 jobs last year. This is projected to increase to 67,000 this year.
