Ambassador al-Anzi emphasized the positive impact that improved relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran could have on strengthening both the regional and Muslim communities. He highlighted the commitment of both countries’ leaders to this cause, stressing the importance of continuous dialogue to bridge any gaps and confront challenges together.
Al-Anzi also issued a caution against allowing external parties who might oppose the rapprochement between Saudi Arabia and Iran to succeed in their endeavors. He reiterated Saudi Arabia’s dedication to peace and the well-being of the region, a sentiment underscored by the historic agreement reached in Beijing in March 2023. This agreement marked the restoration of diplomatic ties, leading to the reopening of embassies and missions, and was formally activated in April of the same year, signaling a new era in diplomatic relations between the two countries.
