Spain Offers Expertise for Morocco’s Railway Expansion
Spanish Transport and Sustainable Mobility Minister Óscar Puente Santiago, during a visit Monday to Rabat, expressed Spain’s eagerness to assist Morocco in enhancing its railway infrastructure. Following discussions with Moroccan counterpart Mohammed Abdeljalil, Santiago emphasized Spain’s valuable railway transportation expertise and its potential contribution to Morocco’s rail network ambitions. He lauded the Spain-Morocco partnership as crucial, viewing Morocco as a pivotal player in regional development.
Abdeljalil highlighted the significance of Santiago’s visit, framing it as a chance to explore mutual interests and collaborate on Morocco’s high-speed rail initiatives. The announcement underscores the longstanding cooperation between the two nations, separated by the Strait of Gibraltar, and follows a strategic roadmap launched in April 2022 aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.
