Trucknet Unveils Land Bridge for Safer, Faster Cargo Transit to Mediterranean

In response to the rising security threats in the Red Sea, particularly from Yemen’s Houthi militia, an Israeli company, Trucknet, has developed an innovative “land bridge” to provide a safer and faster alternative for cargo transportation. This route, bypassing the Houthi-threatened maritime path, connects the Gulf to the Mediterranean, offering significant time savings for cargo shipments.

Trucknet’s founder and CEO, Hanan Fridman, explained to The Media Line that the land bridge starts from either the Jebel Ali Port in the United Arab Emirates or the Port of Mina Salman in Bahrain, traversing through Saudi Arabia and Jordan, and terminating at either the Haifa Port in Israel or Port Said in Egypt. This initiative not only counters the Houthi threat but also streamlines the shipping process.

Established in 2016 to tackle inefficiencies in land cargo shipping, Trucknet has developed technology for smart transportation and logistics management. The company has successfully collaborated with over half a million trucks in Europe and has forged partnerships with Bahraini and Emirati companies.

This land bridge doesn’t intend to replace the Suez Canal but offers an efficient alternative, especially during crises. For a detailed insight into this groundbreaking project and its implications for global shipping, read the full article on The Media Line’s website.
