His meetings, aimed at halting the current military confrontations, highlighted the US’s strategy to collaborate globally for Lebanon’s stability and prosperity. This diplomatic push comes amid frequent exchanges of fire between Hizbullah and Israel—an escalation that began on Oct. 8, 2023, when the Iran-backed Lebanese militia launched attacks on Israel’s northern border following the Oct. 7 incursion by Hamas in the south, underscoring the urgent need for a durable resolution in the region.
