“This letter of intent reflects our shared vision for a more capable and connected defense partnership,” said Hegseth during the signing ceremony. He also announced a new initiative linking the US Defense Innovation Unit with the UAE’s Tawazun Council. The program aims to bolster bilateral cooperation on advanced defense technologies and broaden investment in the defense industrial base.
In addition, the UAE has formally joined the US National Guard’s State Partnership Program through an agreement with the Texas National Guard. The collaboration is expected to support the UAE’s defense modernization goals and includes joint activities in areas such as missile defense, cybersecurity, disaster response, and operational planning.
The move comes as both countries seek to align strategic priorities and address emerging threats in a rapidly evolving regional security environment.
