Wiz Wows as Startup Nation’s Tech Sector Booms Despite War

During the ongoing conflict, Israel’s technology sector, particularly in cybersecurity, has not only sustained but thrived, according to a new report from Startup Nation Central. Despite the challenges posed by the war in Gaza, private investment in Israeli tech surged by 31% in the first half of 2024, with significant contributions from several large funding rounds.

In an interview with Felice Friedson, Avi Hasson, CEO of Startup Nation Central, detailed the sector’s successes and the resilience of Israeli cybersecurity firms to The Media Line. Notably, Google’s parent company is set to acquire the Israeli cloud security firm Wiz for a record $23 billion, underscoring the high stakes and vibrant activity in this sector. This acquisition reflects the broader trend of increased demand for cybersecurity solutions, driven by more companies moving their operations to the cloud.
