After Israel-Hizbullah Military Exchange, Tense Calm Restored (VIDEO)

Two days after the eruption of a serious conflagration along the Israel-Lebanon border, a tense calm has been restored.

On Sunday, Hizbullah fired anti-tank missiles at Israeli military positions located near the village of Avivim, to which the IDF responded by targeting a number of the Iranian proxy’s military assets.

While the situation appears contained for now, according to Israel’s Channel 12 things could have quickly spiraled out of control. The Israel Defense Forces were reportedly prepared to undertake a massive operation in Lebanon had the attack been more extensive and caused casualties.

“The fact that [Hizbullah leader Hassan] Nasrallah missed and didn’t kill any Israelis saved Hizbullah from the destruction of its precision missile program,” an IDF source was quoted as saying. “The planes were already in the air.”

The Media Line toured the area of the military exchange and spoke to Israeli officials and local residents about the violent episode.
