President Biden: The Pro-Hamas Extremists ‘Have a Point.’ So Do We.

During his emotional speech at the Democratic National Convention, US President Joe Biden addressed an anti-Israel protest, some of whose members used hammers to breach the security fence near the United Center. “You have a point,” the president declared, bemoaning the loss of innocent lives “on both sides.”

Hard to argue with President Biden on this one. Indeed, who would celebrate or justify the loss of innocent lives?

The answer has been staring at us for the last 10 and a half months:

Hamas celebrated their “success” on October 7, 2023, when they perpetrated the largest mass murder of Jews in a single day since the Nazi Holocaust. Their fighters even called fellow Gazans from ravaged Israeli communities to boast about the killings, rapes, kidnappings, and hostage-taking.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas publicly referred to Hamas terrorists as “martyrs.” The Palestinian Authority incentivizes murder and mayhem through legislation that provides financial rewards to terrorists and their families for attacking and killing Jews.

The “point” that pro-Hamas protesters aim to make varies from campus to campus, from world capital to state capital. Some scream the genocidal “from the river to the sea” one-state solution. Others call for an immediate, unconditional cease-fire. We hear blood libels claiming the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is committing genocide, allegations labeling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other leaders as “war criminals,” and calls to end aid to Israel. As Israel battles on seven fronts in a war initiated by Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, there are demands for an arms embargo against the Jewish state. And earlier this week in London, one could hear clarion calls for a global intifada!

Meanwhile, the persistent drumbeat of genocidal hatred on social media fuels deadly violence against Jews in Israeli communities and on the streets of our nation

The “point” that America’s leaders should have been making to Hamas, via the terrorists’ main financial backer Qatar and Egypt, which enabled the construction of an underground tunnel network into Gaza, was a clear ultimatum: Free all hostages immediately, stop using Gazans as cannon fodder, lay down your arms, and head to Iran or Yemen, or stay and face the consequences for the deaths and destruction in Israel and Gaza.

Instead, over the past 10 months, the US has sent top diplomats to the region, hoping to broker a deal with these mass-murdering, hostage-taking terrorists.

While President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris listen to, though they have not yet acted on, the anti-Israel voices, the IDF delivered its own “point” the same day President Biden spoke in Chicago.

IDF soldiers recovered the bodies of six Israelis hidden in a secret annex of a tunnel beneath Gaza. All six had been kidnapped alive on October 7 and were later murdered while held by Hamas.

Hamas’ plan is to hold every hostage, even the dead, until all incarcerated Palestinian murderers of Jews are released from Israeli prisons.

Let’s make a point to at least remember the names and ages of these six men: Nadav Popplewell, 51; Yagev Buchshtab, 35; Yoram Metzger, 80; Haim Peri, 79; Alexander Dancyg, 76; and Avraham Munder, 79.

We hope against hope that most of the remaining Israeli hostages—including five Americans—are still alive and that all the hostages, alive and dead, will finally be repatriated to their families.

Not so long ago, America’s elite campuses were debating where the borders of a future Israel-Palestine two-state solution would be drawn. Not anymore.

Hamas has vowed to repeat and intensify the events of October 7 if given the chance. Their supporters from Berlin to London to Toronto to Chicago enthusiastically embrace Hamas’ genocidal, anti-Semitic narrative.

We have heard those chants and get their point: If it’s up to rioters, the Jewish state and its people will be eradicated.

But Israel and its Zionist supporters are also making a point, to friend and foe alike: Never again. And never again is now.
