Carmen de Burgos: Journalist, Writer and Adventurer

Librarian María Isabel Méndez Martínez will present the works of Carmen de Burgos on December 4 from 4:30 to 6:00 pm at Cervantes Institute in Fez. Known by her pseudonym “Colombine,” Burgos is considered by many to be the first woman war correspondent, covering the Rif War. Her feminist ideas were groundbreaking at the time, and she produced a long list of literary works and translations. Some of her works related to her time in Morocco have been selected to represent this woman ahead of her time.
