Argentina and Mexico will produce the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine for most of Latin America, Argentine President Alberto Fernández said on Wednesday after meeting with company executives involved in the project.

Face masks became mandatory on Monday in areas of Paris popular with tourists, including the banks of the River Seine and the Montmartre neighborhood. Other tourist sites such as the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées were not listed. Violators above the age of 11 will face a €135 ($159) fine.

Novavax said on Monday that it expects manufacturing capacity to meet the demand in the US for coronavirus vaccines in 2021, which they say could be as high as 500 million to 600 million doses.
