The total number of coronavirus worldwide passed the 20 million mark on Tuesday. According to the Johns Hopkins coronavirus tracker, the current number of global infections stands at 20,092,855 with 12,350,879 recoveries and 736,254 deaths.

Greece ‘formally’ in 2nd wave of coronavirus

A top infectious disease expert in Greece has told the Guardian newspaper that the country is “formally” in a second wave of the coronavirus. Greece on Sunday recorded the highest number of daily cases since the outbreak began with 203 infections. On Monday, the country confirmed 126 new cases, pushing the total to 5,749 with 1,347 recoveries and 213 deaths. Also, the Museum of the Ancient Agora in Athens will be closed for two weeks for disinfecting after a worker there tested positive for COVID-19, the Culture Ministry announced.
Masks mandatory in Paris tourist centers

Face masks became mandatory on Monday in areas of Paris popular with tourists, including the banks of the River Seine and the Montmartre neighborhood. Other tourist sites such as the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées were not listed. Violators above the age of 11 will face a €135 ($159) fine.
Novavax expects to meet US COVID-19 vaccine demand in 2021

Novavax said on Monday that it expects manufacturing capacity to meet the demand in the US for coronavirus vaccines in 2021, which they say could be as high as 500 million to 600 million doses.
