Bomb Explosion in Pakistan’s Balochistan Province Leaves 2 Dead, 10 Injured

A bomb detonated Sunday night in a bustling market area of Balochistan’s Khuzdar district in southwest Pakistan, killing two people and injuring 10. Officials reported that the explosion occurred at approximately 9:40 pm local time, caused by an improvised explosive device attached to a motorbike.

Authorities believe that the attack targeted a police vehicle on routine patrol, which escaped the blast by mere seconds. The vehicle’s occupants remained unharmed, but civilians in the vicinity, who were shopping in preparation for the Islamic festival of Eid al-Fitr, were not as fortunate. Among the injured were women and children, who have since been transported to local hospitals for treatment.

No group has yet stepped forward to claim responsibility for the devastating attack. The incident has raised concerns about security in the region, especially in the lead-up to significant religious celebrations. Law enforcement agencies are investigating to identify and apprehend those behind the violence.
