Shooting Attack Near Jerusalem Leaves Boy Dead, Others Injured
A deadly shooting attack targeted a bus traveling along Route 60 toward Jerusalem, resulting in the death of a young boy, reportedly around 10 to 12 years old, and injuring three others late Wednesday night at the Al-Khader Junction in Gush Etzion. The incident involved gunfire from a passing vehicle, striking the bus with 23 bullets.
The critically injured boy was pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital. A 40-year-old woman was moderately wounded, while two others, aged 55 and 24, sustained light injuries from gunfire and shattered glass. The terrorist responsible for the attack managed to flee the scene, prompting a manhunt by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
Video footage from the aftermath shows women and children fleeing the bus, with security forces arriving at the scene shortly after. The IDF confirmed the ongoing search for the shooter and additional suspects, with heightened security measures in the surrounding area, including roadblocks and patrols near Bethlehem.
Violence in the West Bank has surged, with Route 60 becoming a frequent target for attacks.
