Egypt Delivers Medical Supplies to Lebanon, Helps Stranded Citizens Return Home
Egypt has sent 22 tons of humanitarian aid to Lebanon, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced on Saturday. The aid, which included medicines and medical supplies, arrived at Beirut Airport via an Egyptian aircraft. The initiative follows directives from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to support Lebanon in response to the effects of ongoing Israeli military actions.

In addition to the aid, Egypt also facilitated the return of 286 Egyptians stranded in Lebanon. The Egyptian Embassy in Beirut organized an exceptional EgyptAir flight to bring the citizens back home after most commercial airline services were suspended due to Israeli airstrikes.
Israel has recently intensified its air campaign against Hezbollah targets in Beirut and its surrounding areas and has initiated a “limited” ground operation in Lebanon. These operations are part of ongoing tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, which escalated after the Iran-backed armed group launched attacks on Israel in support of Hamas.
