Gunman Opens Fire Near Israeli Consulate in Munich, No Injuries Reported

A gunman reportedly opened fire near the Israeli consulate in Munich, Germany, on Wednesday, coinciding with the anniversary of the 1972 Munich Olympics terror attack. According to the Kan public broadcaster, there were no injuries in the incident, and the gunman has been “neutralized.”

Videos circulating on social media show what appears to be a heavy exchange of gunfire near the consulate. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and local authorities have not yet provided further details.

The timing of the apparent attack comes on a sensitive day, marking the anniversary of the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre, where 11 Israeli athletes and coaches were taken hostage and killed by the Palestinian group Black September.
