Iranian President Signals Economic Collaboration With Niger

Bilateral meeting focused on economic opportunities

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi announced his country’s willingness to cooperate economically with Niger, according to an official statement. The announcement came during a meeting between Raisi and Niger’s Foreign Minister Bakary Yaou Sangaré in Tehran.

Raisi emphasized Iran’s four-decade-long development in various sectors, suggesting that both nations could benefit from such experiences. He also lauded Niger for resisting European “hegemonic” policies, framing it as a sign that Africa has moved beyond the colonial era.

In a more global context, Raisi criticized Israel’s current actions in Gaza and the Western support for Israel, terming them as ongoing instances of “racism and colonialism.”

Sangaré praised Iran for its advancements in various fields and said his visit aimed to bolster friendly relations and elevate bilateral cooperation between Iran and Niger.
