Israel Strikes Hezbollah Weapon Storage Sites in Southern, Eastern Lebanon
Israel carried out airstrikes Thursday night on several sites in Lebanon. The Israeli military said that its fighter jets carried out “targeted” attacks on sites Hezbollah was using to store arms in violation of the ceasefire achieved between Israel and Lebanon in November.
The Israeli military said in a statement that it would “prevent any attempt by the Hezbollah terror organization to rearm, in accordance with the understandings of the ceasefire agreement.”

Truth and understanding
The Media Line's intrepid correspondents are in Israel, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and Pakistan providing first-person reporting.
They all said they cover it.
We see it.
We report with just one agenda: the truth.

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported strikes on the Baalbek District in eastern Lebanon, on the mountain range near the border with Syria, and on several sites in southern Lebanon.
Destroying caches of weapons held by Hezbollah is a key focus on the Israeli military’s strategy in Lebanon. Experts have estimated that the Iran-backed group held the most weapons of any non-state actor in the world. By December 2024, the Israeli military reported that it had destroyed 70% of Hezbollah’s “strategic weapons” and the vast majority of the group’s weapon manufacturing and storage facilities.
The ceasefire agreement achieved between Israel and Lebanon was meant to begin with a 60-day implementation period ending in late January during which the Lebanese military would take over areas in southern Lebanon controlled by Hezbollah and Israel would withdraw from Lebanon. On January 27, Israel and Lebanon agreed to extend that deadline until February 18.
