Kuwait Stands Firm: No Israel Ties Without Palestinian Statehood
Foreign Minister: Palestinian state a precondition for normalization
Kuwait’s Foreign Minister, Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, has affirmed the country’s stance on not normalizing relations with Israel until a sovereign Palestinian state is established in accordance with international resolutions. Speaking at a press conference, he emphasized Kuwait’s commitment to its principal foreign policy issue—support for the Palestinian cause—and labeled the Israeli offensive in Gaza as retaliatory. Sheikh Salem wants an “immediate end to the violence in Gaza,” urging support for the region and advocating for a resolution involving “the creation of an independent Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders.”
