Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Ascends as Kuwait’s New Emir
Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has been declared the new emir of Kuwait by the cabinet, following the death of Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah at the age of 86 on Saturday. The announcement, made by Issa Al-Kandari, Kuwait’s deputy prime minister and minister of state for cabinet affairs, was based on the country’s constitution and Article 4 of Law No. 4 of 1964.
