The newly introduced military assets feature a variety of domestically developed technologies, highlighting Iran’s focus on enhancing its naval capabilities. The additions include guided-missile cruisers, two Azarakhsh speedboats, a rocket launcher, minesweeper helicopters, and a hovercraft, Technical Commander Abbas Fazel-Nia said.
Among the upgraded equipment are the Sahand and Alborz destroyers, now outfitted with advanced tethered drones, Sanjar unmanned aerial vehicles, and an increased arsenal of cruise missiles. Additionally, the fleet has been enhanced with Bavar drones equipped with radar seekers, medium-range Sayyad-3 air defense systems, and Nasir missile-equipped hovercrafts. The navy’s expansion also encompasses a range of cruise missiles, electric torpedoes, smart naval mines, and advanced missile guidance and underwater weapons, marking a significant upgrade in Iran’s naval warfare capabilities.
