Israel, US Hold Joint Cybersecurity Drill

The Joint Cyber Defense Division (JCDD) of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) held a joint cybersecurity drill with the US Cyber Command. The week-long drill held at a Cyber Command facility in the US, called Cybedome, simulated a variety of cyber defense challenges, according to the IDF. It is the sixth joint cyber defense exercise between the US and Israel. “This event demonstrates the strategic partnership between the two militaries, which allows both to achieve cyber network superiority,” the IDF tweeted. On Saturday, a hacker organization calling itself “Sharp Boys” said that it hacked two Israeli hiking websites, including a chain of stores, amounting to 500 GB of data. The hacker group said in a tweet that it was in possession of the personal data of 3 million users, including usernames, emails, phone numbers and passwords, and offered to sell the information for $300,000.
