Sinop Ranked Happiest City in Turkey, TurkStat Reports
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) has released its latest happiness rankings for cities across Turkey, with Sinop, located in the Black Sea region, emerging as the happiest city. Sinop achieved a happiness rate of 77.66%, placing it first among the country’s 81 major cities.
Following Sinop is Afyonkarahisar in the western Aegean region, with a happiness rate of 76.43%. In third place is Bayburt, an eastern Anatolia city, registering a happiness level of 75.91%. Kirikkale, situated in central Anatolia, ranks fourth with a happiness rate of 75.48%.

Other cities in the top rankings include Kutahya in the Aegean region, which posted a happiness rate of 73.76%, and Cankiri in central Anatolia, with a rate of 73.5%. Duzce, another Black Sea city, recorded a happiness rate of 72.77%, while Usak in the Aegean region follows with 72.34%.
In southeastern Anatolia, Siirt reports a happiness rate of 71.65%, and Sirnak closely follows at 71.36%. The report highlights the Black Sea region as the happiest in Turkey, with cities in the Aegean region also showing strong levels of happiness. Central and southeastern Anatolia regions also reflect significant contentment, according to the TurkStat data.
