Tunisian President Reshuffles Key Ministries Weeks Before Election
Tunisian President Kais Saied announced a significant reshuffle of his cabinet on Sunday, involving 19 ministers, including key posts in defense, foreign affairs, and health, just weeks before the country’s presidential election set for October 6.
The Tunisian Presidency issued a statement on its Facebook page, confirming the changes without offering specific reasons for the decision. In the reshuffle, Khaled Sehili has been appointed defense minister, replacing Imed Memmich, while Mohamed Ali Nafti takes over as foreign minister from Nabil Ammar. Mustapha Ferjani has been named health minister, succeeding Ali Mrabet.

We report with just one agenda: the truth.

Earlier this month, on August 8, Saied dismissed Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani and replaced him with Kamel Maddouri, who previously served as the social affairs minister.
Saied, who has been in power since 2019, is expected to run for a second five-year term in the upcoming presidential election. These changes come as Saied continues to assert control over Tunisia’s political landscape, following his controversial moves to centralize power in recent years.
