Baghdad Walk
Baghdad Walk is a series of group exhibitions with artworks by emerging Iraqi artists presented in the public space in different locations in Baghdad. On March 7, 2020, from 10 am to 5 pm 12 artists present their perspectives about the Culture of Remembrance in the neighborhood of Mutanabbi Street and Shorja Basar.
The artwalk starts at the ruins of the former court building Al Mutasarefiya and the Mutanabbi Statue in Mutanabbi Street, proceeds to Al Rasheed Street, meanders through the Shorja Basar, goes back to Al Rusafi Square and ends at Al Mutasarefiya.

Baghdad Walk is not only a mobile exhibition. It is a narrative city tour with background information about the chosen places. Each artist connects the artwork with the locality in a narrative way. The city of Baghdad is retold new through the eyes of young Iraqi artists.
Baghdad Walk is a project of the Goethe-Institut Iraq, in cooperation with the Berlin Institute for Spatial Experiments and TARKIB Baghdad Contemporary Arts Institute.
