Change the System, Protect the Climate

Change the System, Protect the Climate

Fighting climate change means fighting for the rights of people to have access to sufficient and healthy food and a clean environment while protecting the rights of future generations. Fighting against climate change also means fighting against an economic model based on “extractivism” and the accumulation of wealth and producing inequalities, injustices, poverty, famines and dependencies. More than 60 years after its independence, Tunisia remains largely dependent on the outside for food though the country is rich in natural resources. The issue of food dependence/sovereignty and climate change deserves urgent and in-depth public debate in the public space. We cannot wait for a catastrophe to act. To break the silence that covers this vital emergency, the Observatory of Food Sovereignty and Environment (OSAE) calls all Tunisians to participate in the event “Change the system, protect the climate” on December 6 at 3:30 pm in front of the Municipal Theater at Avenue Habib Bourguiba, Tunis. For more information please contact the OSAE, tel. 50225557 / osae.marsad@gmail.com.
