Egypt Breaks Record for Longest Iftar Table

Egypt just snagged a new Guinness World Record for the longest-ever Iftar table. The 3,100 meter-long table broke the United Arab Emirate’s record of 2,894 meters last year. The new record-holding table hosted almost 7,000 people in Egypt’s new administrative capital near Cairo. Devout Muslims began observance of Ramadan, a holy month of daily fasting from dawn to sunset, broken each evening with the Iftar meal.
