Egyptian Wins Important Mobile Journalism Competition
Mostafa Darwish, a freelance visual journalist from Egypt, has won the 2019 Thomson Foundation mobile journalism competition. This year’s competition received 154 entries from 55 countries. Using his iPhone, Mostafa reported on the sharp fare increases for an inadequate train system in Cairo, having it published on the independent Egyptian online news site Mada Masr.
