Lebanese Village Aiming to be Powered by Solar Energy

In a pilot project implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), European Union-funded solar panels have been installed in the southern Lebanese village of Qabrikha due to the inability of the government-run electricity sector to provide service 24/7, especially in remote villages. According to a statement by the E.U., Qabrikha is just one of “several innovative projects promoting energy efficiency and small-scale renewables [in Lebanon].”
