May Day in Turkey
People took to the streets in Turkey today to celebrate International Workers’ Day, also known as May Day. The day, promoted by the international labor movement, is a celebration of the working class and occurs every year on May 1. It is considered a public holiday in many countries in the Middle East, such as Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Pakistan, the Palestinian Territories and Syria.
