Rights Group Wishes ‘Happy Birthday’ to Jailed Saudi Activist
Human rights workers wished imprisoned Saudi activist Loujain al-Hathloul a “happy” 30th birthday. This is the second birthday Hathloul is spending behind bars. The activist, who had long campaigned for women’s rights to drive in the kingdom (which were later granted), is one of some one dozen women detained in May 2018 amid a Saudi crackdown on dissent.
