Saudi Arabia Hosts Global Meeting To Back Palestinian Statehood
Saudi Arabia hosted the inaugural meeting of a global alliance in Riyadh on Wednesday, aiming to advance the establishment of a Palestinian state and support the two-state solution. Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah opened the gathering by calling for a decisive international response to escalating violence in the region and what he described as ongoing Israeli “aggression” toward Palestine and Lebanon. The Saudi Press Agency reported that Faisal urged global partners to implement the two-state solution, promote regional stability, enforce accountability for violations, and secure an immediate cease-fire along with the release of detainees.

The Palestinian presidency expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s efforts, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, commending the coalition members for their support. Over the past year, the alliance has aimed to gather international backing for the State of Palestine, seek full UN membership, advocate for humanitarian relief, and push for Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza.
Saudi Arabia announced the formation of the alliance in September as a cooperative effort among Arab, Islamic, and European countries.
