IDF Strikes Hezbollah Targets, Citing Ceasefire Violations

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced late Sunday that it conducted airstrikes on multiple Hezbollah targets, including a rocket launcher, a military site, and routes along the Syria-Lebanon border allegedly used for smuggling weapons to the terrorist group.

Before the strikes, the IDF communicated its concerns through an international mechanism established as part of the ongoing ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah. However, according to the military, the warnings were ignored.

“The IDF continues to act to remove any threat to the State of Israel and will operate to prevent any attempt by Hezbollah to rebuild its forces in accordance with the ceasefire understandings,” the military said in a statement.

Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have simmered since a fragile ceasefire was brokered last November, following weeks of cross-border clashes during the Israel-Hamas war. Israel has repeatedly accused Hezbollah of exploiting the ceasefire to rearm and strengthen its positions along the border.
