The US House of Representatives is expected to vote on a $3 trillion coronavirus relief package on Friday, but the legislation faces resistance in the Republican-controlled Senate, and the White House has issued a veto threat.

Singapore on Friday gave a preliminary coronavirus update with 793 new cases being reported, taking the total count to 26,891, the Health Ministry said.

Vietnam on Friday reported 24 new coronavirus infections, all of which were imported, the country’s Health Ministry said. The cases involved Vietnamese citizens returning from Russia who were placed under quarantine upon arrival. It was the country’s biggest daily increase in cases.

India on Friday reported 3,967 new coronavirus cases, bringing its tally to 81,970, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. India’s death toll rose by 100 to 2,649.

Germany’s total coronavirus cases climbed by 913, to 173,152, on Friday, according to the latest update from the Robert Koch Institute. The country’s death toll increased by 101, to 7,824.

South Korea on Friday reported 27 new coronavirus infections, bringing the total number of infections to 11,018, according to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. No new deaths were reported.
