Earthquake Reported Felt Throughout Israel

An earthquake centered in Israel’s Jordan Valley was felt throughout Israel, according to local reports. The temblor, which was mainly felt in the north of the country, was measured by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre at 4.1 magnitude and by Israel’s Geological Survey at 3.7, and stuck on Saturday evening. Israelis in the south and center of the country also reported feeling the earth shake, ranging from Tel Aviv to Beersheba.

The quake comes less than two weeks after a 6.6 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Cyprus and was felt across the region, including in Israel, Lebanon and Turkey.
