Iran-US Talks To Resume Sunday, as Tensions With Israel Continue To Rise
The United States and Iran are set to resume nuclear negotiations this Sunday in Muscat, Oman, the Omani foreign minister confirmed Thursday. The announcement comes at a moment of growing regional instability, with multiple media outlets reporting that Israel is preparing to launch an attack on Iran in response to the direction of the negotiations.
“I am pleased to confirm the 6th round of Iran US talks will be held in Muscat this Sunday the 15th,” Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi posted on social media. Oman has often served as a neutral mediator in backchannel diplomacy between Washington and Tehran.

We report with just one agenda: the truth.

The renewed talks come as US intelligence suggests Israel is weighing a unilateral strike on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. NBC and CBS both cited unnamed US officials who said Israel is “fully ready” to carry out an operation. Israel apparently believes the US and Iran are nearing a framework agreement that does not address all of its concerns about uranium enrichment.
The Trump administration has not publicly confirmed any intention to support such a strike. NBC reported that US officials are not planning to assist with aerial refueling or intelligence sharing. US officials are reportedly on alert for potential Iranian retaliation, particularly against US personnel stationed in Iraq.
Iran’s defense minister warned on Wednesday that any military confrontation would trigger retaliation against US bases in the region. The UK maritime agency has urged caution for vessels traveling through the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Oman, and the Strait of Hormuz.
