An Israeli airstrike struck a police station in Jabalia in northern Gaza on Thursday, killing at least 10 people and wounding dozens more, Gaza health authorities and medics said. Israel’s military confirmed it had targeted a command and control center used by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad operatives to plan attacks on Israeli forces.
According to local health officials, two precision-guided missiles hit the police station near a busy market, resulting in at least 10 fatalities. Dozens of others were treated for shrapnel wounds, though identities of the deceased have not yet been released.

In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces said the strike “degraded a key command post” where terrorists from both Hamas and PIJ “systematically exploit civilian infrastructure to mount terror attacks.” Both groups deny using civil facilities for military purposes.
Separately, Gaza health authorities reported at least 16 more deaths in other airstrikes across the territory, bringing Thursday’s death toll to 26. Since the breakdown of a January ceasefire on March 18, the IDF’s operations have killed over 1,900 Palestinians—many civilians—and displaced hundreds of thousands as Israel broadened a buffer zone in southern Gaza.
