Renewed Israeli Strikes Prompt Evacuations, Raise Famine Concerns in Gaza

Israeli military intensified its strikes across Gaza on Tuesday, marking one of the heaviest bombardments in recent weeks, as reported by residents. Concurrently, the Israeli army has issued evacuation orders for civilians in the northern regions of the Gaza Strip, declaring these areas as “dangerous combat zones.”

The operations included air strikes and ground shelling, particularly in the central and southern sectors of Gaza, continuing nearly 24 hours of relentless attacks. Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee took to the social media platform X to instruct residents of Beit Lahiya to relocate to safer areas, emphasizing the military’s commitment to targeting terrorist infrastructure with significant force.

Despite the escalation, the Israeli military stated its adherence to international law and its efforts to minimize civilian harm. This renewal of military action in northern Gaza follows a period of troop reduction in the area, with Israel claiming diminished control by Hamas there.

This latest military surge coincides with rocket alerts in southern Israeli towns, though no casualties were reported. The armed wing of Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the rocket attacks, highlighting the ongoing capability of Gaza terrorists to strike after nearly 200 days of conflict.
