Trump Warns Hamas: Release Hostages or ‘There Will Be Hell to Pay’
Hours after President Donald Trump met with a group of freed hostages at the White House on Wednesday, he issued a strong warning to Hamas, demanding the immediate release of all remaining hostages. In a Truth Social post, he wrote, “‘Shalom Hamas’ means Hello and Goodbye—You can choose. Release all of the hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you.”
Addressing the people of Gaza, whom he has proposed relocating to neighboring countries, he added, “A beautiful future awaits, but not if you hold hostages. If you do, you are DEAD! Make a SMART decision. RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW, OR THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY LATER!”

The president emphasized his commitment to supporting Israel, referencing billions of dollars in military aid allocated since he took office. “I am sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job; not a single Hamas member will be safe if you don’t do as I say,” he wrote.
President Trump made a similar ultimatum in December, warning that there would be “all hell to pay” if hostages were not released by the time he took office.
Wednesday’s post came soon after the White House confirmed that the US and Hamas had been engaged in direct negotiations over the release of American citizens held in Gaza—an unprecedented move, as the group has been designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the US since 1997.
