Tunisia Seeks Enhanced Military Training Through NATO Partnership

The Tunisian Defense Ministry is looking to deepen ties with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to enhance training and expertise exchange, Defense Minister Imed Memmich stated on Monday. This announcement was made during a discussion with Robert Bauer, chair of the NATO Military Committee, who was visiting Tunisia.

Memmich highlighted the fruitful cooperation between Tunisia and NATO, which he said has significantly bolstered the capabilities of the Tunisian armed forces since Tunisia was granted the status of a major ally outside the alliance in 2015. The ongoing partnership aims to further develop these capabilities through continued collaboration.

Bauer reiterated NATO’s commitment to this partnership, emphasizing the alliance’s intention to strengthen cooperation and support Tunisia’s defense strategy.
