UAE to Grant Citizenship to Some Foreign Investors, Professionals
The United Arab Emirates will grant citizenship to some professionals and investors under a new amendment to the citizenship law.
Those eligible for naturalization under the new amendment announced on Saturday include investors, those with specialized talents and professionals scientists, doctors, engineers, artists, authors and their families, Al Jazeera reported. The amendment will allow new passport holders to keep their existing citizenships.

Those eligible for the citizenship will be nominated by executive councils, local courts and by the government cabinet.
Most of the nine million residents of the UAE are migrants and foreigners. The are granted work visas that last for up to several years at a time.
