It’s a Dog’s Life at Special Gym in Abu Dhabi

Some dogs in the United Arab Emirates beat the Mideast heat by working out in an air-conditioned gym designed just for them. Posh Pets Boutique and Spa in Abu Dhabi is the United Arab Emirates’ first gym for dogs, the AFP news service reported. Temperatures in the UAE in summer often rise above 45 degrees Celsius (113 degrees Fahrenheit) and only drop to around 40 degrees Celsius at night. Just like humans, or perhaps even more than humans, dogs can be subject to heat stroke and dehydration in such weather. The spa has treadmills tricked out just for dogs of all sizes, automatically adjusting themselves to the dog’s pace, and equipped with glass barriers on both sides so that the dogs don’t fall off. Posh Pets charges per minute or per half hour on the treadmills. The shop also allows the dogs to socialize, which they miss when it is so very hot outside. As they say, it’s a dog’s life!
