Author Gol Kalev Warns of Rising Antisemitism as a US Security Threat
Israeli author Gol Kalev argues that the surge in antisemitism from Western institutions, including the United Nations and International Criminal Court (ICC), represents a direct threat not only to Judaism but also to American security and values. Speaking with The Media Line’s Felice Friedson, Kalev explains that what appears as anti-Israel sentiment is often a proxy for a broader ideological attack on the United States.
In his latest book, The Assault on Judaism: The Existential Threat Is Coming From the West, Kalev contends that the ICC’s indictment of Israeli officials sets a dangerous precedent that could later be used against American leaders and military personnel. He echoes the concerns of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who warned that such actions could erode American sovereignty.

Truth and understanding
The Media Line's intrepid correspondents are in Israel, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and Pakistan providing first-person reporting.
They all said they cover it.
We see it.
We report with just one agenda: the truth.

Kalev also criticizes the Western media, which, he says, amplifies Hamas narratives and frequently retracts false claims too late to reverse their impact. He highlights how biased reporting shaped public perception of events, such as the hospital bombing in Gaza, even after evidence later disproved Israel’s involvement.
In a discussion of historical context, Kalev links European interference in the Middle East to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, arguing that foreign actors have fueled tensions for over a century. He also dismisses the two-state solution as a Western construct that does not reflect Palestinian priorities.
Kalev insists that the modern assault on Judaism follows historic patterns of antisemitism, evolving alongside Jewish identity and Zionism. He warns that unless the US takes these threats seriously, both Israel and American democracy could suffer severe consequences.
