Global Leaders React as Donald Trump Survives Assassination Bid
A campaign rally in Pennsylvania for former President Donald Trump turned into a scene of violence and chaos on Saturday, as he was targeted in what the FBI has described as an assassination attempt. During his speech at the Butler Farm Show, Trump was suddenly hit by gunfire, which struck him in the ear and splattered blood across his face. Secret Service agents quickly intervened, shielding him with their bodies. Despite the traumatic event, Trump returned to the stage with a bloodied face and a defiant fist raised, urging his supporters to “Fight! Fight! Fight!” His campaign later reported that he was in stable condition and receiving medical care at a local facility.
According to US law enforcement officials, the attack originated from an elevated position outside the rally venue. The suspected gunman was quickly neutralized by the Secret Service’s counterassault team, trained specifically for such threats. The incident resulted in one attendee’s death and left two others critically injured, confirmed by Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger.

The Media Line's intrepid correspondents are in Israel, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and Pakistan providing first-person reporting.
They all said they cover it.
We see it.
We report with just one agenda: the truth.

Reactions from international leaders saw Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu express shock and concern, reflecting the strong political ties between Trump and Israeli leaders. Netanyahu’s message on Twitter conveyed prayers for Trump’s safety and a speedy recovery. Israel’s National Security Minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, also showed his support with a post stating, “God bless Trump,” and adding a heart emoji.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi released a statement condemning the attack and wishing Trump a rapid recovery. “We are following with concern the treacherous incident faced by former US President and presidential candidate Donald Trump, and affirm Egypt’s condemnation of the incident,” al-Sisi said. He emphasized the importance of a peaceful and healthy US election campaign, free from terrorism, violence, or hatred.
