Kabul Suicide Bombing Leaves 6 Dead, 13 Injured
A suicide bomber on Monday detonated explosives in front of the General Directorate for Monitoring and Follow-up of Decrees and Directives, in the Qala Bakhtiar neighborhood of Kabul, killing at least six people and injuring 13 others, according to Afghan police. Khalid Zadran, the spokesman for the Kabul police chief, confirmed that the victims included a woman, with all of the injured being civilians who were rushed to a hospital for treatment. The bombing occurred in southwestern Kabul, and authorities are currently investigating the incident. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
The Islamic State Khorasan (ISIS-K), an affiliate of the self-proclaimed Islamic State and a significant adversary of the ruling Taliban, has a history of carrying out similar attacks in Afghanistan, frequently targeting schools, hospitals, mosques, and Shia communities. Since the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan in August 2021 following the withdrawal of US and NATO forces, the country has experienced ongoing violence, despite initial Taliban promises of increased security.

Truth and understanding
The Media Line's intrepid correspondents are in Israel, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and Pakistan providing first-person reporting.
They all said they cover it.
We see it.
We report with just one agenda: the truth.

ISIS-K, which has intensified its recruitment and attacks in the region, often targets the very groups that the Taliban vowed to protect, including women, children, minorities, and foreign representatives. This includes a deadly attack on Kabul’s airport in August 2021, shortly after the Taliban takeover, which resulted in nearly 200 deaths, including 13 US service members.
The Taliban’s efforts to maintain control have been challenged by ISIS-K’s continuous acts of terror, further destabilizing an already fragile security situation in Afghanistan.
