Kuwait’s New Emir Sheikh Mishal Accepts Cabinet Resignation
Kuwait’s newly sworn-in Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah accepted the resignation of the country’s cabinet on Wednesday, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported. The cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, will continue to function as a caretaker government, managing urgent affairs until a new cabinet is established.
This transition of power comes after Sheikh Mishal officially took over as emir during an oath-taking ceremony at the National Assembly earlier on Wednesday. In his address to the parliament, the new emir emphasized the need for accountability within legal frameworks and urged both legislative and executive bodies to work towards the nation’s benefit.

The Media Line's intrepid correspondents are in Israel, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and Pakistan providing first-person reporting.
They all said they cover it.
We see it.
We report with just one agenda: the truth.
At 83, Sheikh Mishal, now the 17th ruler of the oil-rich Gulf state, called for a comprehensive examination of Kuwait’s current situation, considering aspects like security, economy, and public welfare. He also reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to cooperation both within the Gulf region and on the international stage.
Sheikh Mishal succeeds the late Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who died on December 16 at the age of 86.
