Saudi Arabia will host the third Global AI Summit in Riyadh from September 10 to 12, aiming to position itself as a leader in artificial intelligence (AI) and highlight the crucial role governments play in using AI to drive economic growth. The summit, themed “Leveraging AI for the Betterment of Humanity,” will focus on ethical AI development and its applications in various sectors, including transportation, urban design, mental health, and resource management. The event will also explore AI’s role in governance, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Abdullah bin Sharaf Alghamdi, president of the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority, emphasized that the summit will examine AI’s current capabilities, future potential, and the ethical guidelines needed to ensure its positive impact on society. The summit is expected to attract over 300 experts and speakers from 100 countries and will feature more than 120 interactive sessions and workshops. These sessions will cover a wide range of AI-related topics, including the development of generative AI and its integration into smart cities.
