Death Toll in Iran Protests Exceeds 30; Names of 29 Released by Opposition Group
Names of 29 Iranian protesters killed during the current wave of anti-government demonstrations were released Monday by the opposition group The New Iran. The overall death toll has now risen to more than 30 as protests continue, The Media Line reports.
Fatalities were verified through The New Iran’s network of activists operating in cities across the country. Dr. Iman Foroutan, the network’s founder, said the group has confirmed deaths in areas near Tehran and in many cities outside the capital.
