UAE Launches New Humanitarian Aid Agency for Global Relief

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced the formation of a new aid agency focused on expanding the country’s international humanitarian work, according to state-run Emirates News Agency on Monday. The UAE Aid Agency will oversee foreign aid initiatives aimed at urgent global needs, including disaster response, recovery operations, post-conflict stabilization, and development projects, as well as capacity-building programs.

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE vice president and deputy prime minister, described the initiative as a continuation of the nation’s longstanding commitment to humanitarian support. He emphasized that the new agency reflects the UAE’s dedication to tackling pressing global challenges and furthering sustainable development efforts worldwide.

The Emirates has already contributed more than $98 billion in foreign assistance, benefiting over a billion people across the globe, according to the report.
